Welcome to 2014 !

Welcome to 2014.

Happy New Year to everyone....Wishing all my families, relatives, friends and reader a very happy, good health and prosperous 2014.

Although I have been a very very lazy blogger but I never forget my passion and love for card making. Throughout 2013 I still make cards when I have available time or when I feel creative or inspired. I usually will upload those cards into my Facebook or Instagram.

Here I have made a compilation of the cards I have made in 2013...well I may have missed a few because I forget to take the photo before giving it out !

One of my new resolutions for 2014 is to learn a new skill or craft...any IDEAS? I will try to update my blog as frequent as possible. Hence I decided not to include the tools I have used to create those cards. If anyone is interested with the item, please email or leave comments and I will try to respond asap. This will make it easier for me to update my blog...lazy bum.

Usually I make birthday cards for my family and friends ...very seldom I will make them randomly. Lack of motivation and inspiration. Hopefully 2014 will be something different for me. Make more cards....

Today, I have made my first card for 01.01.2014...Is all about LOVE, LOVE and LOVE. All of us need LOVE in our lives...

A close up of the flower bouquet. I have added some glitters on the flowers. It is impossible to see from here. Maybe is time for me to purchase the Stella Glitter pen.  I have seen so many people raved about it inYoutube.

Here are some of my favorite quotes to share with you all....

I come from that society and there is a common thread, specifically family values - the idea that you do anything for your family, and the unconditional love for one's children.
- Ednita Nazario

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
- Martin Luther King Jr

Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
- Mother Teresa

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do...but how much love we put in that action. - Mother Teresa
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. - Lao Tzu

A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won't be too bad. - Robert Wagner

Happy New Year ....2013

Happy New Year
2013

I know I had been MIA for 4 months .....well a lot of things happened !

1) My mom was here (from Malaysia) visiting me for 3 months which is very good. I get to eat home cooked food and spend quality time with her. So everyone please appreciate your mom.

2) Later I discovered I had a growth in my eye which deter me of making any new cards. Hardly able to open my eyes after hours of facing the computer. Promise my mom that I will stop for a while and let my eyes recuperate.

As usual I don't like to see doctor but the growth is getting bigger and redder on both of my eyes. This has affected my blurry vision and make my eyes really tired. Finally two weeks ago, I have decided to see doctor as it has gone bad to worst...I was provided with medication which help to reduced the growth but it does not stop there. I have allergy reaction on the medication and antihistamine does not help. See doctor again finally provided me with antibiotic as my eyes has been more red, itch, redder and mucus around my eye. ....CONJUNCTIVITIS.....I had to rest in the house for few days.

Hmm....not a good year to start with.
But I am determined that 2013 will be a fantastic year for me.

Watch this space......

PDC Challenge

Today I have made a very quick and simple card. I took less than 30 min to complete this card. I have to embossed it twice to get the perfect card outcome. There is minimal embellishment on the card. I only used white stitching and half back pearl to complete the whole card look.

What do you think?

I did not enter any new challenge this week as I was away for a short holiday. But I have managed to drum up a special project for my special and dear friend who is celebrating her first birthday as Mrs C and away from home....

I hope she has a wonderful time and will love this card.

I mainly used PTI products in this birthday card and lots of paper cutting. Verdict...I love this project. It make me want to fly away to see my dear friend in Japan...

The Play Date Cafe Challenge

The Play Date Cafe Challenge

Love this week challenge from PDCC. The design team has choose such a happy and fun colour to play with. Honestly I am not brave enough to used all this colours in one card.
Finally I have decided to use a black cardstock as a base card. This will able to accentuate the happy and fun colour.

I am using two type of embossing folders to create this card. I have stamped the Hedged Maze image with Brilliance - Sunflower Yellow ink pad and embossed again (twice) with clear embossing power. This is to create a shiny image. Then using the ribbon to hide away the in-between of the two embossed image.

Stamped the sentiment (from MFT) with Hibiscus Burst (PTI) ink pad. I have also re-colour the word "LOVE" with copic marker (R46) and outline the word 'LOVE'. I want to focus the word "LOVE" of the whole sentiment.

What do you think?
Any suggestion for improvement or feedback will be welcome.

We never stop learning.
Thank you.

Maria

I have added the glossy accent on my heart die to accentuate my heart. I am using Close to my heart - True Happiness - Grass stamp for the grass. I have stamp the grass twice (lighter and darker colour) so you can see the shadow effect on the grass.
I love the PTI stamps and dies and also AmyR sentiments. They matched well together. The above card is so chilling and relax.

 Just like the sentiments said...
I am just sitting here thinking of you!

Have a great weekend !
